Ramban district is currently facing a terrible natural disaster. Continuous heavy rains have disrupted normal life, causing flood-like conditions in many areas.
Continuous rains and frequent landslides have worsened the situation, leaving people feeling distressed and insecure. More than 100 people were rescued after heavy rains triggered flash floods in a village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district in the wee hours of Sunday.
Giving information, officials said that due to continuous rains, landslides and mudslides occurred at about a dozen places between Nashri and Banihal on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), due to which the traffic had to be stopped.
