SEATTLE — Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 20-year-old man Wednesday afternoon in Seattle’s Northgate neighborhood.
Just after 4:50 p.m., Seattle police received multiple reports of gunfire in the 2100 block of North Northgate Way. When officers arrived, they discovered a man lying in the parking lot of a hotel with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Officers immediately began performing life-saving measures until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Seattle Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to investigate and is working to determine the events that led to the deadly shooting. Detectives are interviewing witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage, and gathering evidence in the area.
Authorities have not released any information about possible suspects or a motive.
