USADetectives Investigate Fatal Shooting in South Seattle Apartment Building

Seattle police are investigating a homicide after a man in his 60s was fatally shot inside a South Seattle apartment building late Monday night.

Officers responded around 10:00 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 3600 block of 33rd Avenue South. When they arrived, they found the victim with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Police and Seattle Fire Department medics administered emergency aid, but despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the suspect fled the area before officers arrived and has not yet been located.

The Seattle Police Department’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit secured the scene, interviewed witnesses, and collected evidence. Detectives are still working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the victim and confirm the cause and manner of death.
