Don Persson Renton Senior Activity Center — The Don Persson Renton Senior Activity Center will temporarily close beginning April 15, 2026, as the city moves forward with significant capital improvement projects aimed at enhancing safety, comfort, and the overall visitor experience.
The closure is expected to last through September 2026 while renovations are completed. During this period, the facility will not be open to the public, and all on-site programs will be paused.
Despite the closure, Renton Parks & Recreation has ensured that many popular programs and activities will continue at alternate locations across the city. Events and services are being relocated to venues such as the Renton Community Center, Liberty Park Recreation Building, and the Renton History Museum.
City officials say the improvements are designed to modernize the facility and provide a better environment for the community once it reopens in the fall.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed about the project’s progress through official city updates as the renovation continues.
