A Qatar Airways flight carrying Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba to Kathmandu had to make an emergency landing on Friday. The flight was diverted to Kolkata after it failed to land at Tribhuvan International Airport due to bad weather.

Deuba was returning home on a regular flight after attending the United Nations meeting in Geneva. According to sources at Tribhuvan International Airport, the Qatar Airways flight from Doha landed in Kolkata amid bad weather conditions.
“The Kolkata-diverted Qatar Airways flight will return to Nepal once the weather becomes normal,” an airport employee said. There is no information about the number of passengers on the plane except Deuba.
