The U.S. Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) has announced the opening of a new immigration court in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The court is scheduled to officially begin operations on October 20, 2025.

The Baton Rouge Immigration Court will be located at:
451 Florida Street, Suite 500, Baton Rouge, LA 70801

The court’s hours of operation will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The designated phone number for inquiries is 225-412-5950.

EOIR has stated that all parties whose cases are reassigned to the Baton Rouge Immigration Court will receive official advance notice. Until the court opens, individuals with questions are advised to contact the New Orleans Immigration Court at 504-589-3992.

The new court is part of EOIR’s mission to adjudicate immigration cases fairly, efficiently, and uniformly while upholding U.S. immigration laws. EOIR operates under the delegated authority of the U.S. Attorney General, conducting immigration court proceedings, appellate reviews, and administrative hearings.

Officials say the addition of the Baton Rouge court aims to improve accessibility and efficiency in handling immigration cases in Louisiana and surrounding regions.
