Former Mumbai Indians cricketer Shivalik Sharma was arrested on Monday (May 5) on charges of rape. 26-year-old Shivalik plays for Baroda. Shivalik was arrested and taken into custody by Rajasthan Police. He was part of the Mumbai team last year.
According to reports, Shivalik was produced in court and then sent to judicial custody. A woman who was in a relationship with him filed a complaint at Jodhpur’s Kudi Bhagatsuni police station. She alleged that Shivalik had physical relations with her by making false promise of marriage.
The report also said that the two met two years ago in Vadodara, after which a close relationship developed between them and since then, they were in touch over the phone.
