USAFelon Armed With Hatchet Arrested After Breaking Into Seattle Restaurant, Stealing Liquor

A 55-year-old convicted felon was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly breaking into a business in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle using a hatchet and stealing alcohol.

According to police, the incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. in the 200 block of 1st Avenue West. Officers responded to reports of a break-in at a restaurant and quickly located the suspect in a nearby alley. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Authorities say the suspect used a hatchet to smash his way into the business before stealing approximately $160 worth of liquor bottles. The stolen items were later recovered near a trash bin, along with the weapon. Officers also discovered fentanyl in the suspect’s possession.

Police documented damage to the property estimated at around $800. The recovered alcohol was returned to the restaurant, while the hatchet and narcotics were submitted as evidence.

The suspect, who has prior felony convictions for theft and possession of stolen property, also had two active warrants for felony theft and criminal trespassing. He was booked into King County Jail.

Detectives from the General Investigations Unit are continuing to handle the case under Incident Number 2026-117438.
