USAFelon Arrested in U-Village Retail Theft Operation

Seattle police arrested a 28-year-old convicted felon and detained two additional shoplifting suspects during a Retail Theft Operation at the University Village shopping center on the evening of December 23.

According to police, officers conducting the operation around 7:15 p.m. arrested two women, ages 28 and 34, after they were caught stealing merchandise from Victoria’s Secret. Officers recovered $173 worth of stolen items and seized a fixed-blade knife, lockpick kit, and brass knuckles from one of the suspects. Both women were identified and released, with criminal charges forwarded to the City Attorney’s Office.

Later in the operation, the store’s Loss Prevention manager alerted officers to two additional suspects stealing merchandise. When officers attempted to detain them, both suspects fled through the parking lot, abandoning stolen items as they ran. Police were able to apprehend one of the men, while the second suspect escaped.

The arrested suspect, a 28-year-old known to law enforcement as a violent offender, is a previously convicted felon with prior assault and robbery convictions. He was booked into the King County Jail on charges of Organized Retail Theft and Obstructing a Public Officer.

Officers recovered an additional $759 in stolen merchandise. The second male suspect remains at large. The case is active and ongoing, assigned to the General Investigations Unit.

Victoria’s Secret has trespassed all three suspects from the store.
