The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has begun reducing water outflows from the Howard Hanson Dam, a move expected to lower river levels and decrease the risk of additional flooding across the region this weekend, according to the City of Kent Government.
Local authorities confirmed that while some neighboring communities along the White River remain affected, Kent continues to monitor conditions closely in coordination with regional partners.
Progress is being made on the ground, with several roads now reopened as conditions improve. City crews remain actively engaged in real-time monitoring and response, noting that conditions may still change.
