Pakistan has reached the second position in the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) 2025. Pakistan has reached here after increasing terrorist attacks across the country and the death of a large number of people in them. The new GTI report has been released by the Institute of Economics and Peace (IEP).
It includes 163 countries across the world. 99.7 percent of the world’s population comes under the scope of the report. The GTI report evaluates several factors including terrorist incidents, people killed, injured, hostages and impact of terrorism. The report shows that terrorism-related deaths in Pakistan have been rising steadily over the past five years.

There has been a year-on-year increase over the last 10 years. Terrorist attacks across Pakistan increased by 45 percent in the year 2024.
