USAGovernor Bob Ferguson Urges Peaceful Protests Ahead of Planned Demonstrations in Washington

October 18, 2025 | Olympia, WA
Governor Bob Ferguson has called on Washington residents to express their views peacefully during upcoming demonstrations expected to take place across the state.

In a statement shared on social media early Saturday morning, Ferguson acknowledged the large-scale protests that occurred earlier this summer, noting that “tens of thousands of Washingtonians took to the streets to take a stand for democracy.”

He encouraged residents to “make their voices heard, once again, peacefully,” emphasizing the importance of lawful civic participation.

Governor Ferguson also reaffirmed confidence in local law enforcement, stating that officers are expected to manage all protests “with professionalism, and without interference from the federal government.”

“Let’s keep each other and our state safe by following the law,” he added.

The governor’s remarks come amid anticipation of renewed demonstrations across Washington, though specific details regarding timing and causes have not been officially announced.
