The world’s richest person and big businessman Elon Musk may soon be out of the Donald Trump government, that is, he may separate from DOGE. US President Trump himself has given such an indication.
Donald Trump has told members of his Cabinet and other close aides that his billionaire partner Elon Musk will soon step down from his government role, Politico reported, citing three people close to Trump.
Trump handed over the charge of DOGE to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Politico reported that both Trump and Musk have decided that Musk will soon return to his business, but no specific date has been set for this yet.
Shares of Musk’s Tesla, which were down 2% in early trade after first-quarter deliveries fell more than expected, are now up 3% following the report. When Trump was asked if he wanted Musk to stay in office beyond his 130-day term, the US President replied, “I think Musk is amazing and wonderful, but I also think he has to run a big company. He is going to go back.”
