USAHeat Advisory Issued for Western Washington as Temperatures Climb into the 90s

Kent, WA — The U.S. National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Heat Advisory beginning 10:00 a.m. Tuesday through 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, with hot conditions expected across much of western Washington.

Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 80s to mid-90s, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses, especially for older adults, young children, outdoor workers, and individuals with existing health conditions.

Residents are urged to:

  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
  • Limit outdoor activities during the hottest hours of the day.
  • Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.
  • Keep homes cool by closing blinds and curtains during daylight hours.
  • Never leave children or pets inside parked vehicles.
  • Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and those at higher risk.
  • Use sunscreen and other sun protection when outdoors.

Weather officials recommend staying in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible and remaining alert for signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
