USAHeavy Snowfall Hits Washington Cascades; Stevens Pass Leads With 12 Inches

SEATTLE, Wash.,  — The National Weather Service (NWS) Seattle reported fresh snowfall totals across the Washington Cascades following overnight snow from late Tuesday into early Wednesday. The heaviest accumulation was recorded at Stevens Pass, which received approximately 12 inches.

According to NWS, snowfall amounts as of 10 a.m. included:

  • Stevens Pass: 12”

  • Paradise (Mt. Rainier): 8”

  • Snoqualmie Pass: 6.5”

  • White Pass: 5”

  • Mt. Baker Ski Area: 5”

The snow is expected to improve ski conditions in the region but may create hazardous travel for mountain pass drivers. Officials advise monitoring weather updates and preparing for winter driving conditions.

The NWS continues to track additional systems that may bring more snow to higher elevations later this week.
