The work of developing Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) on Dwarka Expressway and Delhi-Gurugram Expressway has been completed. It has also been started but at present, not much emphasis is being given on challaning.
The traffic police will make people aware about the system for the next 15 days. People will be told that now if they violate traffic rules, they will be issued an online challan. A control room has been set up on Dwarka Expressway.
As soon as the traffic rules are violated, the information will reach the control room. Not only this, the entire activities of both the expressways will also be monitored through the system. The Delhi-Gurugram Expressway and Dwarka Expressway are connected to each other like a ringman system. The Dwarka Expressway is connected to the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway near Mahipalpur in Delhi and Kherki Daula Toll Plaza in Gurugram.
Together they form a circle of 60 kilometres. 150 state-of-the-art cameras have been installed in 60 km. Some Artificial Intelligence (AI) based cameras have also been installed which will automatically issue challan if the traffic rules are violated.
