President Donald Trump has announced the launch of ‘Gold Visa Scheme’ for immigrants seeking American citizenship. Through this scheme, the way will be cleared for foreign citizens to get American citizenship by paying 50 lakh dollars i.e. about Rs 44 crore. In the first phase of this scheme, a plan has been prepared to issue about 10 lakh gold cards.
President Trump has said that the money investors will pay for the Gold Visa will help pay off America’s national debt quickly. This plan of President Trump may prove costly for Indian immigrants. According to US Citizenship and Immigration (USCIS), about 10 lakh Indians are waiting for green card. About 50 lakh Indians live here

Currently, people living on H-1B or EB-2/EB-3 visa can also apply for the Gold Card, but they will also have to pay only 50 lakh dollars for it. America came up with five categories of visa programs in the year 1990. It is known as EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, EB-4 and EB-5.
Any person could get EB-5 visa by investing 10 lakh dollars i.e. about Rs 8.75 crore. The condition was that the investment should generate employment for at least 10 people. President Trump has said that by purchasing this visa, people will come to America and pay a lot of taxes here. They will spend a lot and provide a lot of employment.

Now citizenship by investment in America will be expensive for the people. Along with this, verification of the investors will also be done.
