U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials in Buffalo have arrested a 60-year-old Jamaican national who has been previously convicted of murder and criminal possession of a weapon in Rochester, New York. The arrest occurred on November 13.
According to ICE, the individual had been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for the offenses. The agency highlighted the case as part of its “Worst of the Worst” initiative, which focuses on the apprehension of violent offenders who are unlawfully present in the United States.
ICE stated that the arrest underscores its continued efforts to remove individuals convicted of serious crimes from the country.
