Feeding pigeons at various intersections of the capital Delhi (India) can now prove to be costly. If you feed pigeons, you will be fined at home. For this, you may have to spend up to Rs 500.
The MCD has started this from Tibetan Market near Kashmiri Gate, Idgah roundabout and near Ambedkar Bhawan on Panchkuinya Road crematorium. Where feeding or throwing grains to pigeons and other animals on the roundabout and roadside spreads dirt, for which challans of Rs 200 to Rs 500 are being issued.
Information has been collected about 10 people who did this and till now, five challans have been issued. Vandana Rao, Deputy Commissioner of City SP Zone in MCD, said that this decision has been taken to stop the filth happening here. Whoever feeds birds or stray animals will be fined for spreading filth.
