India defeated Sri Lanka by 97 runs in the final of the Women’s ODI Tri-Series being held in Sri Lanka. India won the toss and decided to bat at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Thanks to Smriti Mandhana’s century, the team scored 342 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
In reply, Sri Lankan women were all out after scoring 245 runs in 48.2 overs. Captain Chamari Athapathu scored the highest 51 runs from the team. Nilakshikha Silva scored 48 runs. Sneh Rana took 4 wickets from India. Amanjot Kaur took 3 wickets.
Mandhana became the third player to score the most centuries in women’s ODI cricket. She was selected as the Player of the Match. Apart from her, Harleen Deol scored 47, captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 41 and Jemima Rodrigues, who scored a century in the last match, scored 44 runs.
