The Iranian president said on Sunday that he would not make any direct deal with the US. US President Donald Trump had written a letter to the Iranian president expressing concern over Iran’s rapidly expanding nuclear program.
Iranian President Masoud Pazhakian’s remarks officially confirmed for the first time that Iran had responded to Donald Trump’s letter. It also indicated that tensions between Tehran and Washington could escalate further.

Pazhakian said that the possibility of direct talks between the two countries has been ruled out, but it is not clear whether Trump will agree to hold indirect talks or not. Since Trump pulled the US out of the Iran nuclear deal in 2018, the indirect talks held so far have been unsuccessful.
