KENT, WA – October 17, 2025 — A months-long investigation by the Kent Police Department has resulted in the arrest of two local business owners for criminal solicitation and the purchase of stolen property.
On Wednesday, October 15, detectives and officers from the Neighborhood Response Team (NRT), Special Investigations Unit (SIU), and Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), along with patrol officers, executed a search warrant at the Golden Steer Restaurant located at 23826 104th Ave. The business had been under investigation for several months following tips about illegal activity.
According to police, a 35-year-old woman from Federal Way and a 33-year-old man from Kent were arrested after reports surfaced that they were purchasing stolen alcohol and goods from nearby Kent stores. Investigators uncovered a pattern of behavior suggesting the stolen items were being used and sold in the restaurant.
Evidence showed the suspects were allegedly providing lists of desired goods to others, who would then steal the items. The suspects paid significantly below market value for the stolen goods.
During the search, authorities recovered approximately $3,000 worth of high-end stolen liquor and several pounds of frozen, store-packaged catfish.
Police stated the business did not have a license to operate and has since been shut down. The suspects face eight counts of criminal solicitation, in addition to charges of possession of stolen property and the illegal purchase of liquor.
The Kent Police Department expressed gratitude to the City of Kent Legal team, the Liquor Control Board, the Kent Police Evidence team, and Fred Meyer for their assistance during the investigation.
