The City of Kent is recognizing National Impaired Driving Prevention Month this December, emphasizing the serious public safety risks associated with impaired driving and the importance of intervention to prevent repeat offenses.
Kent Municipal Court operates a specialized DUI Court program designed to help high-risk DUI offenders address underlying substance use and mental health challenges. The program connects participants with structured treatment, supervision, and recovery support aimed at reducing recidivism.
The therapeutic court program includes five phases, each focused on helping participants remain alcohol- and drug-free while working toward long-term behavioral change. Officials say the program’s intensive approach helps individuals access the treatment and resources necessary to become healthier, productive members of the community.
The City encourages residents to learn more about DUI Court services and the importance of impaired driving prevention.
