Kent, Washington – Officers from the Kent Police Department successfully arrested a 24-year-old suspect wanted in connection with a rape investigation in Bothell after receiving a regional BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert from the Bothell Police Department.
Earlier this week, Bothell Police asked surrounding agencies for assistance in locating a suspect wanted for Second-Degree Rape and Unlawful Imprisonment. Investigators identified the suspect’s vehicle as a Volkswagen GTI, which had been captured multiple times in the Kent area by Flock safety cameras.
On the afternoon following the alert, at approximately 2:28 p.m., a Kent traffic officer spotted the vehicle parked outside a downtown bank. Several officers quickly responded to the scene and safely approached the suspect as he exited the building.
Police say the suspect, a 24-year-old man from Buckley, complied with officers’ commands and was taken into custody without incident. He was later transferred to Bothell Police to face the charges connected to the investigation.
Authorities credited the arrest to strong coordination between law enforcement agencies, effective communication, and the use of modern technology such as license-plate camera systems. Officials also praised the alert patrol work that led to the quick identification of the suspect vehicle.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that Kent officers remain vigilant and committed to locating suspects who attempt to evade arrest.
