Kent, Wash. — Officers with the Kent Police Department arrested a domestic violence suspect Friday evening following a vehicle stop in the city.
The arrest stems from a December 20, 2025 incident in King County in which the suspect allegedly assaulted a woman, striking her with open hands and fists and strangling her until she lost consciousness. Authorities said the suspect had a prior history of significant violence and was believed to be armed with a gun. A Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert had been issued, noting he was known to frequent the Kent and Auburn areas.
Around 5 p.m. Friday, Kent officers conducting routine patrol near the 25600 block of 116th Avenue Southeast were alerted by Flock Safety camera technology to a vehicle associated with the BOLO.
Officers responded to the vehicle’s last known location, and Officer De Var located it nearby. Multiple officers conducted a traffic stop in the 24300 block of 116th Avenue Southeast. Police said the suspect complied with commands and was taken into custody without incident.
The vehicle, identified as a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, was impounded at the request of King County authorities to serve a search warrant for evidence related to the case.
Police credited coordinated patrol efforts and real-time technology alerts for helping quickly locate and apprehend the suspect. The individual faces potential charges including assault, domestic violence, and felony harassment.
