USAKent Police Arrest Nevada Suspect After FLOCK Cameras Detect Stolen Vehicle

Kent, WA — Proactive policing and FLOCK Safety Camera technology led to the arrest of a 42-year-old Nevada man last week after officers located a stolen Lexus, multiple stolen credit cards, and a container of fentanyl.

Around lunchtime, a Kent patrol officer was alerted by FLOCK that a stolen 2005 Lexus had been detected traveling through the north end of Kent’s valley. Officer Joss quickly located the vehicle heading westbound on S. 212th Street and followed it into a business lot in the 19900 block of 72nd Avenue S.

The suspect, whose Nevada driver’s license was revoked, was cooperative and detained without incident. When questioned, he declined to explain why he was in possession of the stolen car. Officers contacted the vehicle’s rightful owner and learned the full story: the suspect had taken the vehicle from someone he knew and had been warned multiple times—in writing and by Nevada police—to return it.

Despite repeated notifications and orders to return the car, the suspect ignored them, relocated to Kent, and continued using stolen credit cards belonging to the victim.

After the arrest, officers searched the Lexus with permission from the owner and located a container of fentanyl. The vehicle was impounded so it could be returned to the owner, along with the stolen credit cards.

The suspect was booked into King County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen credit cards, and drug-related offenses.

Kent Police highlighted the successful arrest as an example of how FLOCK cameras and proactive patrols help reduce crime in the city.
