USAKent Police Celebrate Community Police Academy Graduation

KENT, OHIO — The Kent Police Department proudly celebrated the graduation of its latest Community Police Academy class this week, marking the successful completion of a ten-week program designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community.

The academy provided residents with an inside look at police operations, procedures, and public safety efforts. Participants dedicated their personal time to learning about various aspects of the department, from patrol functions to community policing initiatives.

Police officials expressed their appreciation for the graduates’ commitment and engagement, noting that the group was highly interactive and enthusiastic throughout the program. “It was a great group and a lot of fun,” the department shared in a statement.

Looking ahead, the Kent Police Department announced future opportunities for residents to get involved. Two Community Police Academy sessions are offered each year. In 2026, the Spring session will feature the Advanced Community Police Academy, with the Basic Academy serving as a prerequisite. The next Basic Academy is scheduled to return in Fall 2026.

Registration details for the 2026 Spring session will be released in February and will be available on the Kent Police Department’s website and social media pages.

Community members interested in learning more about local law enforcement and building stronger community ties are encouraged to apply when registration opens.
