USAKent Police Repeat Safety Warning: Stay Off Levees and Flooded Areas

Kent, WA — The Kent Police Department has again urged residents to stay off levees and avoid flooded areas, stressing that public safety remains the top priority as flooding conditions continue in parts of the city.

Police officials warned that sightseers, photographers, and non-emergency personnel entering levees or flooded zones can slow down first responders and public works crews who are actively monitoring, repairing, and reinforcing levees.

Authorities emphasized that these restricted areas are dangerous and should only be accessed by emergency and maintenance teams. Residents are encouraged to follow safety guidance and allow crews to perform their work without interference.

For accurate and up-to-date flooding information, the public is advised to rely only on official sources, including KentWA.gov and the City of Kent’s official Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram channels.
