USAKent Police Sergeant Arrests Warrant Suspect, Finds Drugs During Downtown Patrol

KENT, Wash. — October 11, 2025 — A Kent Police Department sergeant arrested a man wanted on multiple warrants and found drugs in his possession during a proactive patrol in downtown Kent Friday morning.

According to Kent Police, Sgt. Pribble was conducting routine patrols around 7:30 a.m. near West Meeker Street when she noticed several adults gathered inside a metro bus shelter. The group appeared to be camping out, with various personal items scattered around, and were seen littering.

Sgt. Pribble observed that the individuals were not boarding any of the buses that stopped to pick up passengers. She noted that the location is a regular bus stop for local school students.

After calling for backup, Sgt. Pribble and several officers approached the group. One man — a 29-year-old from Benton County — was found to have two active warrants for DUI and domestic assault out of Benton County.

The warrants were confirmed, and the suspect was arrested without incident. During the arrest, officers discovered a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on the man.

He was booked into the Regional Justice Center (RJC) in Kent and is awaiting transfer to Benton County custody.

Police said officers continue to conduct proactive patrols at bus stops, parks, and other public spaces where individuals may be engaging in criminal activity, while still prioritizing emergency 911 calls.

“Kent Police thank Sgt. Pribble for her proactive work and for setting a strong example for the officers who work under her leadership,” the department said in a statement.
