The Kent Police Department continued a longstanding community tradition last week by serving meals at the Kent Senior Center’s annual Thanksgiving lunch.
According to the department, KPD staff have volunteered as servers for decades, helping deliver a festive holiday meal to local seniors. Officers and staff attended the event, greeting attendees, serving plates, and spending time with community members.
Photos shared by the department show officers assisting seniors at their tables, handing out food trays, and posing for group pictures with attendees. The event brought together seniors, police officers, and volunteers in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.
The department described the tradition as a meaningful way to give back to seniors who have contributed greatly to the Kent community.
“Happy early Thanksgiving!” the Kent Police Department wrote in its announcement.
KENT PD THANKFUL SERVICE TO SENIORS
Last week our Kent Senior Center hosted a Thanksgiving lunch for their seniors. Decades of KPD staff have helped as servers for this event, and we look forward to it every year.
What a great way to give back to our seniors who have given so… pic.twitter.com/DZ62XYYZxU
