The Kent Police Department received a sweet surprise during a recent visit from Kentwood High School civics students, who stopped by the station as part of a class project. While the visit alone was appreciated, the students went above and beyond by bringing a box of doughnuts—something the department jokingly embraced, saying, “YES WE LOVE DOUGHNUTS AND WE’RE OK WITH THAT.”
Officers thanked the students for both the treat and their genuine interest in learning more about local law enforcement. The department praised the group’s positive attitude and curiosity, noting that their engagement reflects the spirit of future community leaders.
The visit was highlighted with smiles and thumbs-up all around in a photo shared by the department, showcasing an officer and three students holding the doughnut box.
Kent Police also encouraged the students’ teacher to give them an A+, appreciating the thoughtful gesture and their enthusiasm.
Hashtags used by the department included #kentpday and #KWFutureLeaders, celebrating the connection between youth and community service.
