Bellevue, WA — September 21, 2025
Drivers in Bellevue should prepare for significant delays on I-405 this weekend. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced that up to four lanes of southbound I-405 will be closed between Northeast 70th Place (Exit 17) and Interstate 90 (Exit 11).
The closures began at 11:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, and will remain in effect until 4:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22. Crews are working to remove pavement, repair sewers, rebuild slabs, and repave the roadway.
WSDOT officials urge drivers to follow signed detours, allow extra travel time, and plan ahead to avoid congestion in the construction zone.
This work is part of ongoing infrastructure improvements to enhance safety and extend the lifespan of I-405, one of the busiest commuter corridors in the Puget Sound region.
For real-time updates, motorists can check Drive511.org or follow WSDOT on social media.
