SEATTLE, WA — Seattle police officers arrested a 33-year-old man armed with a knife and a hatchet while in possession of methamphetamine and cocaine in Downtown Seattle on the evening of December 2, 2025.

According to police, officers were proactively patrolling an alley behind the Smith Tower near the 500 block of Yesler Way at approximately 6:20 p.m. when they discovered the man trespassing. Authorities noted that the alley was clearly marked as closed to the public, with a large posted warning sign at the south entrance and a fence blocking the north entrance.

During their interaction with the suspect, officers observed a small plastic “dime bag” containing a white powdery substance believed to be a controlled narcotic. The man was taken into custody without incident.

A search of the suspect led to the recovery of:

  • Methamphetamine

  • Cocaine

  • A knife

  • A hatchet

  • Drug paraphernalia

Police transported the suspect to the King County Jail, where jail staff declined to book him due to medical concerns. Officers then transported him to Harborview Medical Center for medical evaluation, after which he was released from police custody.

Criminal charges have been referred to the Seattle City Attorney’s Office for:

  • Criminal Trespass

  • Narcotics Possession

  • Unlawful Use of Weapons

The case is being investigated under Incident Number: 2025-353405.
