Seattle, WA — February 1, 2026 — Seattle police arrested an 18-year-old man Sunday evening after a drive-by shooting in South Seattle.
Officers responded just before 8:00 p.m. to reports of a shooting near the 3000 block of South Brighton Street. A police sergeant quickly located the suspect vehicle, which then attempted to evade officers at high speed.
The pursuit spanned from the New Holly neighborhood toward Beacon Avenue South and South Webster Street. The driver eventually pulled over, and officers arrested him without incident.
Police recovered shell casings from the vehicle, which was taken to the Vehicle Processing Room for further evidence examination. Authorities believe the firearm used in the shooting remains inside the vehicle.
No injuries or property damage were reported during the incident.
The suspect was booked into King County Jail on charges of Drive-by Shooting and Eluding a Police Vehicle.
