USAMan Carrying Handcrafted Hatchet and Dagger Arrested for Trespassing in Seattle

SEATTLE — Seattle police arrested a 41-year-old convicted felon late Tuesday night after he was found trespassing on private property while carrying unlawful weapons, according to authorities.

Just after 11 p.m. on Jan. 28, officers were flagged down by a security guard in the 100 block of Broadway East. The guard reported a man trespassing on property he oversees and refusing to leave when asked.

When officers contacted the suspect, he also refused police orders to leave, leading to his arrest.

During a search incident to arrest, officers recovered a black hatchet with a duct-tape-wrapped handle and a makeshift push dagger wrapped in wire.

According to the police report, the weapon was described as “a dangerous knife that does not appear to have any use other than to harm another human being.”

Police say the suspect is a convicted felon and is known to be assaultive toward officers.

The man was booked into the King County Jail on charges of criminal trespass and unlawful use of weapons.

The incident is documented under case number 2026-27387.
