SEATTLE, WA — Police are investigating a shooting in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District that left a 37-year-old man Injured early this morning.
The incident occurred around 6:20 a.m. in the 400 block of Maynard Avenue South, near Hing Hay Park. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found the victim in an alleyway suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police provided immediate aid, applying a tourniquet to control bleeding until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. The victim was then transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
Preliminary findings indicate that the shooting followed an altercation between the victim and the suspect. Investigators are working to determine the exact circumstances leading up to the incident.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and remains at large. Police conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the individual.
