SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle police are investigating a shooting that left a 36-year-old man seriously injured in the early hours of June 12 near the Belltown neighborhood.
According to the Seattle Police Department, officers responded around 2:34 a.m. to reports of gunfire near the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Pike Street. When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg.
Officers immediately provided medical aid until Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived. The victim was then transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he was reported to be in serious but stable condition.
Investigators determined that the suspect fled the area shortly after the shooting, traveling westbound on Pike Street before heading north through a nearby alley. Despite an extensive search of the area, officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Police recovered a firearm from the alley as part of the ongoing investigation.
