Renton, WA — Authorities in Renton have announced multiple road closures following flooding and downed trees caused by severe weather conditions, according to updates from the City of Renton and the Renton Police Department.

As of 5:15 a.m. on December 17, Benson Road South between South 26th Street and South 106th Avenue SE has been closed due to a tree leaning on power lines, creating a potential safety hazard. Residents are urged to avoid the area.

In an earlier update issued at 4:38 a.m., officials confirmed that NE 23rd Street and Edmonds Avenue NE were closed because of flooding and downed trees.

Additionally, the following streets are closed due to flooding:

  • Logan Avenue (both directions from N. 3rd Street to N. 6th Street)

  • Burnett Avenue North (both directions between N. 4th Street and N. 6th Street)

Drivers are advised to avoid all affected areas, follow posted detours, and use alternate routes when possible. For updates on power restoration, residents can check Puget Sound Energy’s outage map, and for emergency information, visit rentonwa.gov/emergencyinfo.
