USAMultiple Road Closures Reported Due to Flooding

City of Kent officials issued an update Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. confirming widespread road closures caused by water over roadways following heavy conditions in the area.

Authorities announced that West Valley Highway/68th Avenue South between South 180th Street and South 196th Street has reopened. However, several other roads remain fully closed:

Key Closures Include:

  • Frager Road at West Meeker Street; Old Fishing Hole Park is closed

  • Russell Road at Veteran’s Drive; Van Doren’s Landing Park is closed

  • SR 167 (northbound and southbound) closed for a 6-mile stretch between Kent at S 212th Street and Auburn at S 277th Street

  • West Valley Hwy / 68th Ave S / Washington Ave S from Willis Street to S 277th Street

  • S 262nd Street at 78th Ave S to 27232 72nd Ave S

  • 78th Ave S from S 277th Street to S 262nd Street

  • S 277th Street from 108th Ave SE to 83rd Ave S / Auburn Way North

  • Local residential access only via 116th Ave SE and the 108th Ave SE on-ramp to the S 277th Street corridor

  • 148th Ave SE from SE 256th Street to SE 249th Street

  • Green River Road from the S 277th Street overpass to Kent city limits

Officials urge drivers to avoid flooded areas, follow posted closures, and use alternate routes. There is no timeline yet for reopening many of the affected roads.
