The name of a new mastermind has emerged in the terrorist attack with a hand grenade in Kothi No. 575 of Sector-10 on 11 September 2024. That person is Abhijot Singh alias Babbi who is a resident of Batala city of Punjab. Last year, there were also hand grenade attacks on a police station in Batala and a police post in Gurdaspur.
Abhijot was the mastermind of these attacks. Abhijot also had a role in plotting the attack in Chandigarh. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has got many important evidences in this regard. The NIA is investigating the attack in Sector-10 and now the investigating agency will question Abhijot.
Abhijot is currently lodged in Gurdaspur Central Jail. The NIA on Friday filed an application in the Chandigarh District Court and obtained his production warrant. He will be brought to Chandigarh from Gurdaspur on April 7 and the NIA will try to obtain his remand for interrogation.
