TUKWILA, Wash. — A police pursuit early Thursday morning ended with an officer-involved shooting and the arrest of a suspect on multiple felony charges, according to the Tukwila Police Department.

Around 3:20 a.m. on Jan. 30, 2026, officers contacted an adult male driving an unlicensed vehicle in the 4200 block of South 146th Street. Police say the suspect ignored commands and fled, later confirming the vehicle had been reported stolen. Officers were authorized to pursue.

During the chase, an officer used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle near Tukwila International Boulevard and South 142nd Street. At the conclusion of the pursuit, an officer discharged their firearm. Police reported no injuries resulting from either the PIT maneuver or the firearm discharge.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into jail on charges including eluding police, possession of a stolen vehicle, first-degree driving with a license suspended (DWLS), and DUI.

The 14200 block of Tukwila International Boulevard was temporarily closed during the investigation. The Washington State Patrol (WSP) evidence response team is processing the scene.

As is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings, the involved officer has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation.

The incident remains under investigation.
