Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hit out at critics of the Maha Kumbh, calling them “foreign forces that weaken the country”. Addressing a gathering in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur, he said, “Nowadays we see that there is a group of leaders who make fun of religion, ridicule it, are engaged in dividing people and sometimes foreign powers also try to weaken the country and religion by supporting these people.”

“People who hate Hinduism have been living in one phase or the other for centuries. People trapped in the mentality of slavery keep attacking our faith, belief and temples, our religion, culture and principles.” PM Modi
