The BRICS summit is being held in Brazil on 6-7 July. PM Narendra Modi has also reached Rio de Janeiro for the 17th BRICS summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on an 8-day official five-nation visit. The PM arrived in Brazil earlier in the day on the fourth leg of his five-nation visit after completing a historic visit to Argentina on Saturday. The President of Russia and the President of China will not participate in this summit being held in Brazil. This is the first time after becoming the Chinese President that Xi Jinping is not participating in this summit. In his place, China’s PM Li Keqiang will participate in the summit.
