SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a stabbing that left a woman injured in the Belltown neighborhood early Tuesday morning.

Just after 7:00 a.m., patrol officers responded to the area of 2nd Avenue and Bell Street, where they found a woman suffering from a stab wound to her torso. Police officers and Seattle Fire Department personnel provided immediate medical aid before the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center. She was reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the woman told officers she was stabbed in a nearby alleyway and then walked to the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Bell Street to seek help. Despite searching the surrounding area, officers were unable to locate the exact crime scene.

Police are actively searching for a suspect but say they currently have limited information. The suspect is described as a Black female in her 50s, last seen wearing a green hoodie, leopard-print vest, black pants, and beige shoes, and carrying a tote bag.
