USAPolice Seek Help Identifying Suspect Who Robbed and Assaulted 88-Year-Old Woman in Rainier Beach

Seattle, WA
Seattle police detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect accused of violently attacking and robbing an 88-year-old woman outside her home in the Rainier Beach neighborhood last month.

The disturbing incident occurred on October 13 in the 9900 block of 64th Avenue South. According to police, the suspect approached the elderly woman while she was cleaning items on her back porch and demanded her belongings. When she refused, the man brutally assaulted her, dragging her into her garage and continuing the attack.

During the assault, the suspect stole her jewelry and bit off one of her fingers, police said. The victim sustained serious injuries to her head and hand. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where doctors treated her for serious but stable injuries.

The woman later told investigators she believed the suspect “was going to try to kill her.”

Following the assault, Seattle police, along with officers from Burien, Tukwila, and the King County Sheriff’s Office, searched the area extensively but were unable to locate the suspect. He is described as a man in his 30s.

Detectives from the Seattle Police Robbery Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit processed the scene and are now releasing photographs of the suspect in hopes that someone from the public can identify him.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is urged to contact the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000. Anonymous tips are also accepted.
