TUKWILA, Wash. – October 28, 2025 — The City of Tukwila is seeking public feedback on the Allentown Truck Reroute Project, which proposes a new route for freight trucks traveling through Tukwila, Renton, and unincorporated King County. The goal is to redirect heavy truck traffic away from residential streets in Tukwila’s Allentown neighborhood.
The proposal is part of a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) currently under review. The SEIS evaluates potential environmental effects and identifies a preferred route that would connect to major access points, including SW Sunset Boulevard and Rainier Avenue S in Renton.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review the Draft SEIS and share their input before the public comment period closes on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
