USARenton Farmers Market Wraps Up Successful 2025 Season with Record Community Impact

RENTON, WA — The 2025 Renton Farmers Market season has officially come to a close, and city officials are celebrating a year of impressive growth, community support, and economic impact in downtown Renton.

Operating for 18 market days at a temporary location due to long-standing construction at Piazza Park, the market adopted the theme “Takin’ it to the Streets!” Despite the change in venue, the season proved to be one of the most successful yet, thanks to strong participation from vendors, volunteers, and shoppers.

Strong Support for Farmers and Small Businesses

This season, the market generated $722,129 in total vendor sales, including $306,680 in farmer sales, directly supporting Washington’s agricultural community. A total of 77 vendors participated—20 of whom were farmers—representing more than 637 acres of farmland across Washington State.

Over the season, the market welcomed 39,922 shoppers, averaging 2,217 visitors per market day, with an average shopper spending $18.

Community Giving and Volunteer Power

The Renton Farmers Market’s community spirit was on full display through donations and volunteer efforts:

  • 77 volunteers contributed 1,171 hours

  • 2,119 pounds of food were donated to local feeding programs

  • The popular Kids Patch produced 1,890 balls of play dough

  • Market operations generated approximately $10,029 per hour of economic activity

Food Access and SNAP Benefits

The market continued to expand food access through nutrition assistance programs. In 2025:

  • $16,987 in SNAP benefits were redeemed

  • An additional $15,835 was distributed through the Market Match program

Community Appreciation

The City of Renton and Renton Farmers Market organizers thanked shoppers, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and partners for making the season a success despite logistical challenges. Officials emphasized that the continued community support plays a vital role in strengthening local food systems, supporting small businesses, and bringing fresh food and live entertainment to downtown each week.

“With every visit, purchase, and volunteer hour, our community helped create a vibrant, community-powered season,” organizers shared.

Plans for the next market season are expected to be announced in the coming months.
