USARenton Launches Free Senior Public Safety Miniseries for Adults 50+

The City of Renton, in partnership with the Renton Police Department and Renton Regional Fire Authority, is offering a free Senior Public Safety Miniseries aimed at helping residents aged 50 and older stay informed, safe, and connected.

The five-session series will take place on Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at various locations across Renton, including the Senior Activity Center, Fire Station 12, and Renton City Hall.

The program covers a wide range of safety topics, including:

  • Police & Fire in Action – A behind-the-scenes look at first responders
  • Staying Safe Today – Practical personal and online safety tips
  • Drones, Dive Teams & Water Rescue – Specialized emergency response units
  • Safety Starts at Home – CPR, choking response, and AED awareness
  • Connection & Community – Meeting local officials and safety professionals

Officials say the program is designed to provide practical knowledge, encourage community engagement, and strengthen connections between residents and public safety teams.

The sessions will run from March through May, with registration required due to limited space. Participants can attend all sessions or choose individual topics of interest.

Residents can register online through the City of Renton’s website by searching “ministries.”
