USARenton Man Charged in Fatal DUI Collision That Killed 68-Year-Old Driver

RENTON, Wash. — A 22-year-old Renton man has been formally charged after a deadly DUI crash that occurred on August 10, 2025, leaving one person dead and several vehicles damaged.

According to King County charging documents, the suspect was reportedly speeding northbound on 140th Way SE when he attempted to turn east onto Maple Valley Highway, striking another vehicle head-on. Witnesses told investigators the driver then fled the initial crash scene before colliding with multiple additional vehicles near 150th Lane SE.

A 68-year-old man suffered severe injuries in the secondary collision and later died.

Prosecutors have charged the driver with:

  • Vehicular Homicide

  • Reckless Driving

  • Hit and Run

  • DUI

  • No Valid Operator’s License

Investigators said the driver’s blood alcohol concentration measured nearly three times the legal limit at the time of the crash.

He is currently being held at the King County Jail on $75,000 bail.
