USARenton Police Searching for Suspect After ATM Shooting

Renton, WA – Officers are searching for a suspect following a shooting Friday evening in the 300 block of Burnett Ave S. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m., according to the Renton Police Department.

Witnesses described the suspect as a Black male in his 20s, dressed in all red clothing, top and bottom.

Police say the victim, a 57-year-old woman, had just used an ATM when the suspect attempted to steal her purse. A struggle followed, during which the suspect grabbed the purse and then shot the woman before fleeing the scene.

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been released.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect, who remains at large. The investigation is ongoing.
